Let's Get It On!

The atmosphere suddenly changed. People everywhere talk about it. It doesn't get any better that this!

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's not even Superman!

The storied rivalry is here!

It's the ALCS!

The debate goes on-- Yanks or Bosox?

It's for everyone to judge.

Will it be the much-awaited destiny for the hard-hitting Red Sox of Boston or will the "Curse of the Bambino" haunt them (again!)?

The Sox showed the world how determined they are, closing out the evenly-powerful Angels in the Division Series via an astounding sweep. But on their road comes not just a simple torn, but a very hateful bunch of Yankees! Can the Bosox finally break the curse? Most people hope so.

Moving on the other side of the diamond here are these very tough Bombers from the Bronx. The Yankees proved that they can and will do everything to secure a place in the World Series and that no team shall be complacent even with a huge lead against them. Moreover, they always have a way to prevent the hated rival from winning the World Series easily. They set a major league mark by winning 61 games after trailing at any point of the game, something that they haven't done in the past few years, and a franchise record 242 HRs, which is the best in the majors this year. Last year, it seems that the Sox were headed to the Fall Classic until the much-talked about disaster happened. Thanks to the three people who helped to change the complexion of the game and the series-- Grady Little (for letting Pedro work some more devastating outs but failed to do so), Jorge Posada (who connected on a bloop single to tie the game and make the Yankee fans break in delight), and Aaron Boone (for that 11th inning HR which sent the Bronx Bombers to the World Series and Bosox fans to tears). The only downside for these Bombers this year is none less than the Red Sox team which dominated them this year. One thing I've noticed in the past couple of years is that however hot or strong a momentum the Yanks have, against the Bosox everything seems to be gone suddenly. But this time is different. Far different as it's Yankee time! It's the post season-- one field where the Bronx Bombers have dominated the Red Sox through the years.

So will it be Red or Pinstripes?

Will it be Schilling's fastball or Sheffield's long ball?

Will MIke Mussina finally break that Game 1 jinx or the Sox pound him again?

It's for us to see. What d'you think? Place your bets!

Statistics tell me it should be the Red Sox but my heart belongs to the Yankees!

Let's Go Yankees!

Is there really any other way to go ?

BoSox baby. today, tomorrow, forever.
The yankees are the best team money can buy. But you can't buy victory. Heh Heh.
the sox are HUGE..really, not metophorically.
I am looking forward to replying back and forth with you as the series continues.
May the best team win..
Good luck:)

Personally, I can't stand either team. I'm an Indians fan. Yeah, I know... they're sitting at home watching the ALCS, just like I will be.

My perfect scenario would be the ALCS going to 7 games. That way the teams can wear each other out a little. Then, in some kind of contraversial ending, the yank beat the sox. Then I'd like to see the yanks take it in the shorts from the NL team. I don't care which. Either a sweep or a deciding game loss in NY.

I just think it's great we say the yanks are the best team money can buy and then see them lose the WS! That scenario would frustrate the fans of both teams greatly and make me feel warm inside... HAHA!

Sox in 6!

So Game 1 is history. It's the Yanks over the Sox, good thing Curt went down to earth with that pummeling. A few questions have been answered in this series opener-- Moose finally broke out of a Game 1 slump and the bat of New York has been a nightmare for the other half of the Sox's aces. But that Boston rally that almost(!) turn the tide upside down sent the Bronx Bombers a clear message from the rest of MLB-- what you can do can be done to you as well.
This is a great prelude on what's yet to come in this series, it's really unpredictable! But one thing's for sure-- the only constant thing in baseball is the excitement that it brings to fanatics like us.
What makes me worry after Game 1 is that the last time the Yankees won Game 1 of any playoff series, they went on to lose that series (vs Anaheim). Pedro will try to do exactly just that in Game 2 and hope the Bosox's bats wake up earlier than what it did yesterday. It's the experience of Pedro against the hunger of Lieber.
So will the trend continue? Can the Sox reverse the "Curse" finally? Can the Bombers complete a beating of the Boston aces? Will the mighty Yankees make it two in a row in New York? There's only one way to find out-- see ya tonight!

That's what I like with Boston fans. I really look forward to Games 3 and 4 in Boston. There's nothing more that I can say but-- Yanks in 5!

So, what now Sox fans? Two aces and two loses! How about that? You see money surely can't buy championships but in NY its about pride not money. So see you at Fenway then!

As soon as the Yankees made it into the ALCS I lost all interest in baseball until next year.

From here on out, who cares?  The Yankees won the Royals, Tigers, Twins, Devil Rays, Orioles, Blue Jays, insert non-purchased team here didn't.

Of course if you live in New York or Boston it has to be fun.

I wish I lived in a National League town.
