The atmosphere suddenly changed. People everywhere talk about it. It doesn't get any better that this!
It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's not even Superman!
The storied rivalry is here!
It's the ALCS!
The debate goes on-- Yanks or Bosox?
It's for everyone to judge.
Will it be the much-awaited destiny for the hard-hitting Red Sox of Boston or will the "Curse of the Bambino" haunt them (again!)?
The Sox showed the world how determined they are, closing out the evenly-powerful Angels in the Division Series via an astounding sweep. But on their road comes not just a simple torn, but a very hateful bunch of Yankees! Can the Bosox finally break the curse? Most people hope so.
Moving on the other side of the diamond here are these very tough Bombers from the Bronx. The Yankees proved that they can and will do everything to secure a place in the World Series and that no team shall be complacent even with a huge lead against them. Moreover, they always have a way to prevent the hated rival from winning the World Series easily. They set a major league mark by winning 61 games after trailing at any point of the game, something that they haven't done in the past few years, and a franchise record 242 HRs, which is the best in the majors this year. Last year, it seems that the Sox were headed to the Fall Classic until the much-talked about disaster happened. Thanks to the three people who helped to change the complexion of the game and the series-- Grady Little (for letting Pedro work some more devastating outs but failed to do so), Jorge Posada (who connected on a bloop single to tie the game and make the Yankee fans break in delight), and Aaron Boone (for that 11th inning HR which sent the Bronx Bombers to the World Series and Bosox fans to tears). The only downside for these Bombers this year is none less than the Red Sox team which dominated them this year. One thing I've noticed in the past couple of years is that however hot or strong a momentum the Yanks have, against the Bosox everything seems to be gone suddenly. But this time is different. Far different as it's Yankee time! It's the post season-- one field where the Bronx Bombers have dominated the Red Sox through the years.
So will it be Red or Pinstripes?
Will it be Schilling's fastball or Sheffield's long ball?
Will MIke Mussina finally break that Game 1 jinx or the Sox pound him again?
It's for us to see. What d'you think? Place your bets!
Statistics tell me it should be the Red Sox but my heart belongs to the Yankees!
Let's Go Yankees!
